Patriotas F.C.
Patriotas F.C., also known as Patriotas Boyacá, is a professional Colombian football team based in Tunja, that currently plays in the Categoría Primera A. They play their home games at the La Independencia stadium.
==History==
Patriotas FC was founded in 2003 by the then governor of Boyaca Miguel Ángel Bermúdez, together with then Coldeportes' chairman and the owners of hardware business G&J. That year the club was in the semi-finals and was eliminated by the club Boyacá Chicó.
In 2004 the team advanced again to the semi-finals but it was eliminated by Deportivo Antioquia, Centauros Villavicencio and Expreso Rojo. In 2005 Patriotas was second in the general table but in the semi-finals was eliminated by Bajo Cauca.
In 2009 and after the changes implemented in the Championship, Patriotas was first in Group B but was eliminated again in the semi-finals and ended up in third place. In 2011 the team was promoted to the First Division after beating America de Cali by penalties.
